Cunha picks up injuries during Manchester United vs Burnley in a big blow to Amorim’s men

Manchester United suffered a major injury when the forward Matheus Cunha took a knock during their Premier League match against Burnley in the Old Trafford Stadium on Saturday.

Cunha, while trying a run in the last third part before half an hour, it seemed to have pulled a muscle in the right leg and asked for immediate medical attention. After the first assessment, the United Medical Team instructed a replacement.

As a result, Joshua Zirkzee replaced the Brazilian, who played as the only striker, for Mason Mount and Bryan Mbeumo in midfield.

Cunha joined United for a fee of £ 62.5 million for a deal of five years, with an option to extend another year, this summer of Wolverhampton Wanderers. Since he came to Wolves in 2023, the Brazilian has scored 31 goals in 76 games in all competitions.

However, his start at United has not been flexible, with the club having trouble going, even though he spends more than £ 200 million on improving the forward line, bringing in Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

In the previous United match, Ruben Amorim’s side hit a new low point, because it lost to Grimsby Town 11-12 in penalties in the League Cup-the very first loss of the Premier League giant for a fourth division side.
