The Ministry of Culture, Media and Sport of the British Government confirmed David Kogan on Monday as chairman of the Independent Football Regulator of English Football (IFR).
The IFR will have powers to operate a license scheme for the top-five levels, with licenses that meet clubs with the requirements of clubs with regard to financial stability, suitability of owners, fan involvement and the protection of their heritage.
Kogan, who had a 45-year career as a media director, manager and business adviser and negotiated about TV rights Deals on behalf of sports organizations, including the Premier League, was appointed as the government’s preferred candidate in April.
A British parliamentary committee also endorsed Kogan as chairman of the independent regulator.
The five -year period of Kogan includes the time served as chairman before the country acted in July in July, the Department said in a statement.
