Day 109 in the city of Mt Shasta

Walk in the morning to the path

Dawn from the camp

This morning, I took an alternative route along Girard Ridge to save 3 miles. I worried my lack of water. I spent more than I expected in yesterday’s heat. The alternative route was easy. I am not sure why the PCT was routed in a giant change around a different crest.

I passed the score of 1500 miles along the way. I took Chickadee (my little guitar) and touched some songs before continuing.

Mount Shasta was not so impressive today. The air was smoked from nearby fire. But Castle Crags looks really interesting.

How sounds travel

I thought it was interesting to notice how sounds travel. I could listen to the road when it was still kilometers away. And sometimes, I was able to listen to the streams once I went through the crest and entered his valley, but not before that.

In Mt Shasta (City)

They gave me a trip to the city with an angel of paths. Veggie fixed him, and led for the beginning of the path while I was there. We stopped for Castella on the way to the city of Monte Shasta so that I could pick up my refueling box.

Veggie and I went to the Koa camp. It was $ 15 each at night, including showers and pool.

Ciudad del Monte Shasta

I walked the half mile to the city with vegetables. She bought some supplies and lunch. I ate a hamburger and smoothies in drizzle. Instead of taking his name, they give him a card with a «name» and call that name when his food is ready. I have the fruit loop, reminding my dad. He obtained a nickname of «Froot Loop» on vacation to eat dry froot cereals while reading.

I also collected some things in the supermarket to complement the replenishment box that Ken sent. And there were wild bushings of blackberries that grew along the road to the city. I ate many blackberries.

Camp activities

The KOA camp also had laundry in the place, so I have relatively clean clothes for varying. I went to swim while my clothes were in the dryer.

In the camp, my devices also charged me, which has been a challenge. I have problems making a solid connection between any cable and my phone. I also obtained and used a spare toothbrush to clean the zippers in my store (Durston X-Mid 1), which begin to act squamous.

While carrying devices at night, another came through Hiker. But the office was closed and had no cash to put in self -regulation envelope. And someone who worked there was not very friendly, making it clear that he could not register and pay. I had the cash I needed, so I gave it to him. He found me in Venmo and returned the electronic performance at that time.
