Day 14: Trail Trews, Mr. Bojangles and Fresh Wilderness Pizza

A crunchy morning between the trees

I woke up the camp this morning ready to make some miles and wear some water. The Intel that I obtained from a Nobo walker with whom I camped was to expect small water sources and many cows. Apparently, a bull placed more than one mile that was not interested in him. I knew I didn’t want to camp in this section, so I prepared for a long day.

My first goal was to walk 5 miles to the Seven Creek tank. It had approximately a liter of water from the previous night, which would be enough to get there. The path was a good meandro through the forest. Without great ups and downs. I was able to take one or two views through the trees. I ran into the pharmacy and quickly frozen on my way to the stream. I really enjoy your company. The pharmacy always has a good Zinger Red Sox ready for me. Hopefully we continue walking in the same bubble the rest of the road.

COUNTRY OF THE VACA!

We arrived at Tank Seven Creek. This would be our last water source until Razor Creek … more than 14 miles away. I filled with water, then I packed 3 liters to retain. Just outside the stream, I started a 1400 feet rise. Almost immediately I found myself in a herd of cows. Fortunately, I didn’t see the angry bull that he had heard about. That said, I still walked vigorously through the meadow full of people and tried not to make too much visual contact. After inventing me, they received a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. I stayed a little until I heard a deep Moo from a pines behind me. I didn’t feel like investigating, so I went down shortly after.

Water finally

I walked up and down, through trees and meadows during what they looked like days until I finally found myself in Razor Creek. Fortunately, water flowed and there was no cow cake in sight. I filled myself and packed another 3 liters since I was not sure of the conditions of future sources. Today it ended up being a cunning and cunning day. There was no massive climb, but there were multiple increases of 500-800 feet that my feet felt that they were in a roller coaster. A slow and punishing roller coaster.

The best magic of the path of all time

After opening my final climb, I began to think about where I would camp. Then, a fairly strange sequence of events occurred. While descending the curves towards the beginning of Lujan Creek’s path, I ran into a group of three men who climbed the road. I immediately recognized one of the men as owner of the team company, outdoors. While I was awkwardly, he told me to rush at the beginning of the path because some great things were happening. I was not sure exactly what that meant, but I am not one to ignore great things. I received some life on my legs and advanced. Once I arrived at the beginning of the path, I saw tents, trucks, trailers and a happy group of people. It turned out that this was the base camp of the Colorado Trail Foundation in which I came across!

Immediately after walking, several members of the path of the path came, they said Hello and took me to a tent. Inside they had a pizza oven producing fresh cakes, a giant watermelon bowl, beer coolers and tons of snacks. It was full of so much food. The pizza was incredible. Legitimately almost started crying with a handful of fruits and fresh cake. The crew members were super kind and wanted to listen to my trip so far. I could not have predicted that my water day and hard miles would end with a crew pizza party, but here we are. This path is incredible. While we all sat in a tent listening to some stories, one of the members took a guitar and began playing Mr. Bojangles. It was a beautiful house portion. My brother, Robby, is a talented musician and recently made a version of that song. It was a comforting moment in the Colorado desert.
