Day 46: Rovering about Huckelberry Hostel

  • Huckelberry Hostel Zero, 710.8
  • 0 feet rise, 0 feet of descent

It was easy to take another zero today. We return in Huckleberry Hostel, our own personal vortex. It was not the warmth of the shelter that sustained us. We loved that, but we are ready to walk. It was the promise of another thunderstorm with floods.

Glamping

The shelter was so full that people slept everywhere. We said we would be flexible and the result was that we obtained the glamping tent. It was amazing.

Being in the store felt like being in a movie set for a glamorous adventure of the 1920s. I looked everywhere my cold cream and my red lipstick, but unfortunately, it seems that I have forgotten to pack them.

Interior shot of a maximum glamping store shows complete bed and sofa, flowers and other accessories.

Writing day

While we love to write about our trip and share it with you, a lot of effort is needed to maintain all ordered notes and details.

We are good in our paper notes, but transfer them to an electronic story when you have to do everything on the phone is, tedious. It is easy to reserve when you are worried if you have enough battery until you can recharge or if you are falling asleep after a long day of hiking.

We wanted to make complete use of this unexpected zero to be trapped in this blog. After breakfast, I claimed the interior corner if the breakfast rock and began. As the day progressed, we polished several tickets.

When we write, we start with paper notes and the title of the day. The title of the day is a very discussed topic while we walk. Anything unusual is a candidate for the title. In days with multiple unusual events, we fight together to choose the best words for the day.

After the title, I write the story. Then, we read it out loud, correcting as many typographic errors as they can in the small phone and polishing the story.

Today, with so many people around, the reading process aloud won a audience. At first, it made me nervous. After a while, it became a fun game with people who added ideas. After a blog, everyone was silent until a hiker screened, «what he said,» confirming our opinion on how that trail section had been.

Shared experiences

For a long time, we assume that if something was hard, tedious, hot or cold, we were just. Surely, the people with better or younger paths of trails flew uphill who ate our lunch.

After a while, we began to listen to others to make comments that echoed our perceptions. Maybe that hill really was difficult! We gain confidence and tolerance to ourselves when we learned to others, we also found something hard.

The main event

In addition to all chates, music and writing, and eating, today it was one of the staff of the staff. He decided that he wanted to do barbecue for everyone as a birthday gift.

It has never worshiped Barbecue! There was a breast, ribs, chicken, shredded pork, homemade salad and potato salad.

I want to do something special to add because everyone had been very friendly to us. I found a package of dehydrated apples in the home that we had taken from Montana in my supplies. I added to a mixture of Brownie that I found in the kitchen. It was not the tastiest dessert he had done, but the apples were very important and they were highly appreciated.

Remember our selection, cut, drying and packaging apples during the winter made a strong bridge for our incredible summer of hiking. We carry those apples 200 miles, looking for a special occasion to eat them. Nothing could have been more special than this rainy birthday with a hostel of new friends of a lifetime.
