I woke up around 7:30 am at Lakeview Campground in Stehekin, ready for a day off! I left my things and headed to the store and restored along the shore of Lake Chelan.
I spent the following hours calling family and friends, downloading new episodes of podcast and music, and starting to write about my first week to publish here.
The weeks before I headed towards the path they were quite agitated, so I decided to take this full day in Stehekin. It was nice to talk to family and friends too, I had felt more only than I thought I would do it during the first week, so it was comforting.
I started my clothes once it opened, at 10 am, and then I took a shower, which felt great. It is surprising to feel clean after a week on earth! Then I obtained my refueling box from the Post Office, new food, yes! In the box I also obtained some other things: my knife that I could not bring with me on the plane, my leggings and some notes of family and friends. 🙂
However, at this point, I still had several days of food from the first and second supplies. I hadn’t been eating as much as I thought I would do it, it has been difficult when I feel so restless and I just want to keep walking! And when I’m not walking, I want to sleep, so it’s a safe dilemma. So I sent my extra food, in the same box that had entered my new meal, Snoqualmie Pass, where I will be two results from here.
I also found some updates of others on Facebook that had just walked the section in which I was about to go. According to the majority, it is Washington’s most difficult section, so it scared me a little, and there have been some evacuations in the area that is never good. It is also one of the most remote sections of the path and is the transport of longest food to the mountains, approximately 110 miles between Stehekin and the next stop (Stevens Pass).
I went out to the shore and met more people, and then drew in the restaurant and talked to a group of hikers.
Before bed, I made sure to have all my things ready to leave on the bus the next morning, food, equipment and devices loaded. Then I got into my store and I had a great night of sleep.
See you in the next!
