Day 77: Nick’s birthday! – The walk

It’s Nick’s birthday! We have officially celebrated a birthday on the way now. We had a quite slow morning and finally we left the camp after 7.

We had 25 miles planned for the day, mainly through the Cumberland flat valley. I felt quite strong, and the food finally began not nausea immediately after eating.

We walked through some open fields, and the sun stayed behind some cloudy fields to relieve heat.

We stopped for a small snack and found an old car crashed around a tree in the middle of the forest.

We entered and left more fields and what seemed like people’s courtyards. The walk was pleasant, and finally we reached a farm post. They had raw milk, some products and Gatorade. Each one bought a gatorade and put money in the self -service cash. While we enjoyed these cold drinks, some of the children approached and took old bottles of empty gatorade. I finished mine and asked if the barefoot cyclist loved him. He said: «No, my brother will take it, however!» The brother approached and moved away the entire recycling container, full of empty plastic bottles. These unattended children threw them into their burning burning to see them explode. They exclaimed that the refreshment bottles exploded better. This was amazing, although quite dangerous. I think the children were Amish or Mennonites based on their clothes. How fun it is to be a child.

After several miles, we reached boiling springs! This city was super pretty and perfect for a quick stop.

We stopped at the local outfitter because I heard that they wore the specific shoes we used. Indeed, they had a couple in each of our remaining sizes! It was destined to be. After a painful $ 180 each for shoes at retail prices, we leave our second pair. These shoes have served us well. We have walked almost 600 miles in them, but it was clearly replacing time.

After new shoes, we have a table in a Mexican restaurant. We both order the green burrito and sprinkle it quickly. After Burritos, he had frozen, of course! Nick got a Biscoff flavor, and I have UBE. We enjoy our desserts in a bank in Children’s Lake. Tons of aquatic birds swam in this lake fed by spring.

We are tempted to go to the local pool, but it was getting late. So, on the other hand, we went up and left the city. As was the weekend, we avoid the refuge just outside the city and we found some glorious camp places next to a stream. We soak our feet and legs and enjoy the diminishing night.

Day 77: Nick’s birthday! – The walk

A bee chopped the day before and I have been noticing rashes, hives and swelling in my chopped leg. Cold water seemed to help, but I took some benadryl to help with the reaction. I think I am becoming more sensitive to bee bites as I aged. Every time it has worsened.

In general, we had a good day! He felt great to push a little stronger than we have recently been. Leaving the fog of persistent disease has been difficult since we are still here every day.
