Only a few miles from the city of Sierra, when I woke up, I wanted to get into the city to pick up a little more food/calories. During the 1.5 mile walk along the road from the path to the city, I was not lucky enough to make Caketop, but I took a small lateral defeat through a residential area and I had a pleasant conversation with a woman who lives there and clearly spends a lot of time in her garden, and that she spends the effort to prevent deer from eating the things that she likes also providing other things like the deer.
The Yuba River, like so many rivers that I have crossed, was really surprising.
I stopped at the general store in the city of Sierra. He had many things that a hiker could desire, but he was not complete enough to give the feeling that he was supplied by a hiker. Since half of the articles are priceless in the list and the other half was very expensive, it also seemed that they did not expect business back from many hikers. He certainly did not seem to encourage me to return to the city of Sierra, although the city itself seemed very nice. I bought some «essentials» and then began to walk back the road to the path. This time, I was lucky and someone gave me a trip during most of the distance back to the path.

Sierra City
I am not completely sure what it is, but I find the rock/stick markers on the side of the path that mean that every 100 miles is very satisfactory. I suppose it is a specific sign of the progress I have made. I usually take a little break to get my marker photo, usually with mint (my little camping turtle) and chickadee (my backpack guitar has a path of path now), and touches/sing a song or two.
The departure of the city of Sierra has the reputation of being hard. There was a constant rise of 2000 feet (until the 1200 mile score), but it really didn’t seem so bad. The path was soft enough to be able to take smaller steps and get on. It was also during the climb that the ice cream painting that I bought in the city of Sierra had softened enough to eat it. Truly a great breakfast of trails!

I considered that the calorie count is a positive reason to eat ice cream

Sierra Buttes

Looking down/back to Sierra City
After the marker of the mile, the path crossed around Sierra Buttes at the same altitude. I found this stretch much harder, since the path itself seemed to be constantly on the Scree, where I had to be careful with each placement of the feet.

Scree (shout?) Trail
Then he made his way on a crest while exposed to the afternoon sun most of the road.
Just when I folded the corner to open the crest, I saw the refrigerators and chairs. This path of the path was a true surprise and very welcome. I sat down to a small shadow of a tree and enjoyed a cold soda along with a bag of fresh cherry. Yum! It also made me realize how much we can appreciate so simple pleasures in life.

Surprise Magic of the path
After the crest, the path descended to some public campsites in Tamarack Lakes. My thoughts here were that the sites had spectacular views in the Sierra Buttes lakes. My only question about returning here in the future was how much authorization I would need to drive a car here.
A couple of families were standing around their site while passing. They were very frequent and asked about my walk. We probably talked for 15 minutes or so (more time than was needed to eat the Brownie bite that they gave me) before I went forward to cover a few more miles before establishing the camp.
