Delhi FC relegated to I-League 2 as AIFF disciplinary committee rejects plea to suspend relegation

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) disciplinary committee has officially ruled that Delhi Football Club has been relegated from I-League to I-League 2, the third division of Indian men’s football hgtgdfgdtr12.

Delhi FC finished at the bottom of the I-League last season with 14 points from 22 matches.

As per 4.6.7 of the I-League 2024-25 regulations, the bottom two in the league must be relegated to the I-League 2 2025-26.

However, Delhi filed a petition seeking suspension of relegation in April 2025, which was ultimately rejected by the AIFF disciplinary committee on Thursday.

“Delhi FC’s prayer is in violation of the I-League Rules and Participation Team Agreement,” the AIFF Disciplinary Committee, chaired by Justice Vineet Saran (Retd.), said in its judgment.

“It is undisputed that Delhi FC, who finished last in the 2024-2025 season, have been rightly relegated to the I-League-2 as per the regulations.”
