Diogo Jota Tribute: Premier League teams to observe a period of silence in the first round of competitions


Premier League teams will observe a moment of silence during the first round of competitions this weekend in memory of Liverpool Vooruit Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva, confirmed the competition on Tuesday.

The Premier League has spoken of Liverpool about the most suitable way to remember Jota, who died in July in a car accident next to his brother in Spain.

In addition to a period of silence prior to the kick -off in the matches, players from all clubs receive black bracelets, while messages and images are shared with clubs that they can use on large screens.

Huldesten were paid to the brothers for Sunday’s community shield between Liverpool and Crystal Palace in Wembley Stadium, with wreaths on the field and a period of silence before kick -off.

A minority of Palace fans broke silence and aroused a strong reaction on the other side of the field, as well as from other Palace -supporters who tried to silence those who did not respect the tribute.
