Do you get vu?

In fact, I did not sleep as incredibly as I expected, given how tired he was. Just … something about sleeping in a bed with my quilt on me never really works. I think it’s just that the quilt is usually too good to keep me hot, and although that is a blessing in the cold backcount, it is too much in a bed. Ah, well, I could still sleep to basically 9. What a luxury!

When I got up, Stevie had already made a trip to the edible store and returned, there was coffee, and was chatting with Colin about her plans. UPS. I could barely start my tasks. Mainly … planning how I will address the next mountains!

In general, there are two great things that cause anxiety in whites. The first is how strenuous hiking is. The daily mileage suffers, and that is because the terrain is the hardest it has been … the paths in the whites were established before the word «change» was probably, and most are uploaded, as Moosilauke’s excursion yesterday. However, the other is the lack of camps and the complicated stealth camping rules. Unlike most of the path, there is only … not really anywhere to camp. And depending on where you are, you may have to be 200 feet from the path for the «legally» stealth camp (sometimes, it is not clear if that is only in wild areas, or everywhere …). White also present some of the longest segers of trails on Treeline and, on the contrary, it is not allowed to camp over Treeline. All this is aggravated in a logistics nightmare. Maybe you can push more miles one day … but risk not having a place to camp, or a cabin to work to stay.

Fortunately, I have been reflecting on this section in my head for about a year. And although I have not walked most, I know the map of the area as the back of my hand. Then, after a little fudeo to try to accumulate Washington, not a weekend, I could make an itinerary that I think gives me enough rest and, hopefully, enough possibilities of feeding the cabins. That … yes, the huts. The Appalachian Mountain Club, or AMC, directs a series of cabins (or cabins) in the forest that is quite expensive to stay. That is because they have fresh food in these things! Fortunately, however, they allow 2 through hikers for a night «work for the stay» in the cabins, doing some simple tasks to gain the opportunity to sleep inside and eat some good food. The cabins will also leave the leftovers so that hikers devour … so the worst comes to the worst, I have this as an option to feed.

Anyway, after about two hours of planning, washing dishes, setback and laundry filters, I go to finally start my day. Stevie was making a trip back to Franconia with Colin, although she was going to rain, she hoped she could reach the tincture between the rain cells, and then have a good advantage the next day. I wished him luck, and they were on his way!

I have given up a long time ago to get a good Chinese meal. But here in Lincoln, the goal was not to get that, it was only to visit my old land. And that means many of the restaurants I have eaten before. So my first stop of the day was Chieng Garden, a quite terrible Chinese place. But he still felt nostalgic. The last time I was here, I had just finished one of my most disastrous backpacker trips of the Kate Sleopic loop, which ended with me going down 400 mg of ibuprofen just to be able to drive home. Contrast with that now, where in this walk I have not yet taken a single ibuprofen pill! I ate as much as I could … but I wasn’t taken yet. So I also crossed the street to get a little silly. Calories, calories, calories! Any complex food is what I really need in the city! I really need to get fat here and take me seriously. Do you get vu?

I spent time visiting the outfitters in the city, and in reality I finally had the opportunity to try the Altra Lone Peak is wide. What I found … He disappointed me. The shoes are not really broader in the middle of the foot, the dimensions are stretched on the foot and heel. Gah, it seems that I will never find my pair of gold shoes.

After obtaining everything (except Ramen … strangely enough) from the local price chopper, I returned to Snowchaser to decant and pack, before being collected to go to the notch shelter! I was super excited to go, to be honest, since it has a constant rating as one of the best shelters along the way. In the shelter, I was surprised a bit … It is not exactly a shelter through Hiker, it is a general shelter for the white mountains! Which meant that there were tons of hikers of one day there, and presumably skiers in the winter.

Every time I see this McDonalds, I think of the guy I saw a 20 feet on the path on a pair of jeans in Franconia Ridge

Even with that, I really enjoyed the comfort here. A lot of showers and a very comfortable liter. In addition, my favorite feature of any shelter, bicycles! Any method of not walking is welcome in my book. I took a bicycle on a trip to urgent Lincoln attention for a visit.

Don’t worry! Nothing serious. Due to the concerns with my fatigue and the insistence of other hikers, I decided to enter at least for a consultation. What we found … I was not surprised. I am perfectly healthy relatively, what probably causes my need for breaks is simply running out of things to burn. Every 20 minutes or so, my muscles receive a new glycogen shot released, or anything that is in the tank. And if the fight is eating along the way, there is only one way to compensate for it … through in the city.

That is exactly what I did. The last place I wanted to visit as a basic element where I have been in Lincoln was Black Mtn Burger, where I have had many celebration meals after the adventure. I asked for a poutine and a double hamburger, just getting it into my system. Even when I’m so hungry and this needs calories … my stomach still protests the volume. UggGGGHH, I would just like to eat everything! I grabbed more snacks to chew after my body burned a little more while traveling by bicycle back, before sitting in the common area trying to write this blog. The only unfortunate side of this hostel is a one -day hiker shelter is … how strong it was in the common area! Even at 10, when I was calm hours, there were many drinks and screams, so I took a time to ask people to calm down. They looked at me as if I were a party bridge … Oops. Normally, hikers are all dead for 9, so this was definitely different.

Tomorrow is a slack of the Kinsmans … hard, but after this break? I’m ready!
