The Italian international goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma will undergo a medical and sign for Manchester City on Transfer Deadline Day, his national coach Gennaro Gattuso said Monday.
After reports, Gattuso spoke that the Premier League side agreed a 35 million-euro ($ 41 million) with Paris Saint-Germain for a player who considers it surplus to require requirements since the arrival of French keeper Lucas Chevalier.
«Donnarumma has to sort out a few things, sign his medical and sign his contract with Manchester City,» said Gattuso when he was asked to give an update about his team for the next 2026 World Cup qualification matches.
The 26-year-old Italian international played a leading role in helping PSG to win the Champions League last season.
But PSG signed the 23-year-old Chevalier from Lille during the short season and coach Luis Enrique made it clear that the Frenchman will be his number one choice.

Earlier it was thought that Donnarumma would not join the city unless the regular number One -keeper Edererson left the club, but the PA -press office reported that an agreement has now been reached for the Italian to move to the city.
City brought Burnley -goalkeeper James Trafford into the narrow season and he has started with each of the three Premier League matches so far, but the Englishman did not succeed in convincing it.
Those worries were underlined when City lost 2-1 in Brighton on Sunday.
