Dortmund warns the parents of players to stay away from the dressing room after Bellingham Incident

Borussia Dortmund keeps the parents of players away from dressing room areas after an incident with the father of Jowe Bellingham.

Mark Bellingham traveled from England to see the Bundesliga debut of his son on Saturday in St. Pauli, but then caused a scene in a limited part of the stadium when he spoke with sports director Sebastian Kehl. He reportedly demanded to know why his son was removed during the break.

Dortmund -director Lars Ricken Ricken would not comment on the nature of the discussion when he was asked on Sunday, but told Shooting TV There would be consequences.

«I was not present for the conversation,» said Ricken, who announced that only players, coaches and officials would have access to the dressing room in the future. «We will ensure that we no longer get into the furore by commenting on such things.»

Ricken also played the nature of the disagreement.

«We got Jowe Bellingham because we have built up a relationship of trust with the parents for years,» said Ricken. «Now the family mainly came from England for their son’s first Bundesliga match and wanted to meet Jobe in the bus after the game. Then they stood at the entrance of the dressing room and also spoke emotionally with Sebastian, which is no problem based on the relationship. Everything was already cleared up today.»

Kehl told the Child The day before «, the active area is and remains limited for players, coaches and officials, not for families or agents. That will no longer happen. That is what we have clearly told all the parties involved.»

Bellingham has passed a disappointing German league debut in Hamburg, unlike his older brother Jude. Dortmund finally tied to 3-3 with St. Pauli, where Bellingham was replaced by Felix Nmecha during the break.

In his own Bundesliga debut for the club in September 2020, Jude Bellingham set up a goal when Dortmund Borussia Monchengladbach defeated 3-0. The older Bellingham moved to Real Madrid in 2023.
