The first half of Christopher Kamei secured the result for the Indian Army FT, which defeated a 10-man Tribhuvan army FC from Nepal through a lonely goal in a Group-C match of the 134th Durand Cup on the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jameshedpur on Tuesday.
After lost his opening match against host Jamshedpur FC (1-0), Indian Army searched for his first victory and found the lead in the 21st minute. Kamei was founded by a Wangden Tamang Cross on the edge of the Tribhuvan Army Box. The latter controlled the ball well and ended with a low shot to the bottom corner of the net to guarantee an early advantage for the armymes.
The Tribhuvan -army FC was reduced to 10 men in the 29th minute when the goalkeeper Bikashu was shown a straight red card for a reckless fault on the Indian army Vooruit Liton Shil. The Indian army still had a few chances to increase the margin, but had to be satisfied with the lead of the sole purpose, because all his efforts by the attackers did not infringe the Tribhuvan defense for the second time.
The Indian army collected three points to be in second place, behind Jamshedpur (six points) in the rankings of the Group League, while the Tribhuvan -Army ended his campaign with only one point of a draw and two losses.
Malaysian forces of football team closed his campaign with a victory when it defeated the local Challenger Rangajied United FC 1-0 in a Group-E match in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong. Nasir Yasa found the target in the 67th minute to guarantee a comfort for the Malaysian side, who had lost his earlier two games against Shillong Lajong FC and Northast United FC.
Rangdajied also lost his second consecutive match, so that Shillong Lajong (on six points of two victories) and Northeast United almost left, who defeated the Malaysians in the only game that has played it so far, to fight for the top position in the Group League.
