East Bengal beat Namdhari FC to advance to the IFA Shield final; potential kolkata derby vs mohun bagan on cards

Mohammed Rashid and PV Vishnu scored for East Bengal as the Red and Gold Brigade defeated Namdhari FC in their IFA Shield group match at the Kishore Bharati Stadium in Calcutta on Tuesday.

East Bengal, the most successful team in the tournament with 29 titles, have won both their matches in this edition of the tournament so far. In the final, the top team from the other group – Group B – will be attacked on October 18, with arch-rival Mohun Bagan Super Giant as the likely opponent, who is in the lead in Group B for the final round of play.
