East Bengal defeats Pakistani city of Karachi in the 2025 SAFF Women’s Club Championship


East Bengal recorded a second consecutive victory in the 2025 SAFF Women’s Club Championship by beating Pakistan’s Karachi City 2-0 at Dasarath Stadium in Kathmandu on Thursday.

It started its campaign in the tournament with a 4-0 win over Transport United of Bhutan on December 9, and followed it up with another victory to maintain its impeccable record in the competition.

East Bengal took an early lead in the match, with Sulanjana Raul striking in the fifth minute to extend the lead, before Resty Nanziri struck shortly after half-time to double the lead.

The SAFF Women’s Club Championship will feature one representative each from the top five countries in the Federation. This edition features teams from India (East Bengal), Nepal (APF), Bangladesh (Nasrin Sporting Club), Bhutan (Transport United) and Pakistan (Karachi City).

East Bengal will face Bangladesh’s Nasrin Sporting Club on December 14.
