Indian Super League club East Bengal FC has parted ways with Moroccan striker Hamid Ahadad, the club announced on Monday.

«The decision comes after Hamid expressed his wish to be with his family during this period. As a club that values ​​the well-being of its players off the field, we have decided to honor his wishes,» EBFC said in a post on social media.

“The club has already started the process of finding a suitable replacement,” he added.

After signing for the Red and Gold Brigade in July last year, Hamid made seven appearances in the Super Cup and Durand Cup, scoring twice in that period.

Hamid is the newest addition to the list of foreign departures from the competitionincluding Adrian Luna, Noah Sadou,i and Borja Herrera, among others.

The news comes amid uncertainty over the future of the league. With 2026 set to start, there is still no concrete news on whether there will be a season of the ISL, which ideally should have started last September but has yet to begin due to the lack of a commercial partner for the league.
