East Bengal thrashes Meeten Club to open the CFL 2025-25 campaign; Debutant Manotos Maji comes on Scoresheet

Oost-Bengal started its Calcutta Football League (CFL) 2025-26 campaign with a 7-1 Drubbing or Measurers Club in the Naihati Bankimanjali Stadium on Friday.

Debutant Manotos Maji opened the score as Sayan Banerjee, Vanlalpeka Guite, Tanmay Das, Jesin TK and Suman Dey came on the score sheet. The red and gold brigade led 3-0 during the break.

Manotos opened the score for East Bengal in the 23rd minute and took advantage of a precise assist from Guite that cut in the rival box from the left. Sayan doubled the lead in the 35th minute with a well -timed lob for the assist of Chaku Mandi.

Guite then became the scoreer in the 37th minute when he held on to a well -timed pass by Naseb Rahman, with the smooth attacking game on his side.

In the second half, midfielder Tanmay scored the fourth goal of the game with a long -distance attack in the 48th minute.

Jesin TK, who was the top scorer in the previous edition of the tournament with 13 goals, continued his scoring Spree and twice in the room of three minutes. He scored his first goal in the 63rd minute of the low -driven cross of Ajad Saheem from the right and followed it with another goal in the 66th minute, this time with a left foot finish up close.

Andy Zakhari scored the only goal for Measurers Club against the Run of Play in the 69th minute.

Suman added his name to the score sheet with a long-distance strike in the fourth minute of the second half of the stopping time.

Oost -Bengal then plays Suruchi Sangha on July 3.
