East Bengal started their campaign in style, recording a convincing 3-0 win over NorthEast United FC. The attacking unit impressed with pace and creativity as Youssef Ezzejjari scored twice while Miguel Ferreira added to the tally.
Ahead of his team’s second match, head coach Oscar Bruzon emphasized the importance of consistency in a short competition format.
«We expect a tough match. In a competition with a shorter duration, mistakes are costly, so our focus is on taking one match at a time and continuing to improve. If we can maintain our level of performance, I think we are in a good position to achieve the desired result,» Bruzon said after the final practice session.
