Eastern Bengal, Hijazi Maher because of road

Oost-Bengal announced on Friday that Jordanian Center-Back Hijazi Maher left the Indian Super League outfit.

The defender had joined the red and gold brigade in 2023. He went for the Kolkata club in more than 40 games on matches such as the ISL, AFC Challenge League, Durand Cup and Super Cup.

Last June Maher had signed a two-year contract extension with the club, but earlier this year, during the ISL season of 2024-25, a knee injury saw him sidelined since February.

The defender is said to have joined Al-Faisaly SC, a club that plays in the top of Jordan.
