Eastern Bengal places six goals beyond BSS Sportief in Calcutta Football League


East Bengal achieved successive victories in the Calcutta Football League after beating BSS 6-0 in Barrackpore’s Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay Stadium on Tuesday asd2.

This victory comes after the red and golden brigade arch rival Mohun Bagan Super Giant 3-2 defeated in the Kolkata Derby of the CFL to break a winless streak in the competition.

After the victory, Oost -Bengal jumps to third place in group A and now has 11 points from six games. The top three teams in the group continue to the Super Six round.

Chaku Mandi, David Lalhlansanga, Muhammed Ashiq, Naseb Rahman, Mark Zothanpuia and Guite Vanlalpeka have bought an APIIeece for the side coached by Bino George.

Goals of Mandi, Lalhlalsanga and Ashiq gave East Bengal a comfortable lead of three goals during the break, before strikes from Rahman, Zothanpuia and Vanlalpeka achieved a banging victory for the side.

In the previous outing of East Bengal in the CFL, Lalhlansanga had informed the winner after Mohun Bagan had taken his way back from two goals. Kiyan Nassiri and Leewan Castanha had scored for the Mariners after Jesin TK and Sayan Banerjee had scored on the red and gold in the first half.
