Eastern Bengal vs Mohun Bagan is like a war, we want to win it: EBFC Assistant Coach Bino George

The Eastern Bengal Assistant coach, Bino George, confirmed on Friday that a selection of senior players will join the team for his long-awaited Calcutta Football League (CFL) collision against Aartsrivalen Mohun Bagan Super Giant on Saturday.

«Some senior players have joined the team before the game and we expect Mohun Bagan to do the same,» Bino explained. «Every team plays for the victory. We have not had the best start of the competition, but tomorrow offers a great opportunity for us.»

The red and golden brigade, which only won one victory in their first four CFL competitions, would like to breathe new life into their campaign with a victory in the inaugural Kolkata derby of the season.

Bino emphasized the non -repellent focus of his team on dominating their traditional rivals. «When East Bengal and Mohun Bagan meet, it is a war and we are planning to win it. There is no room for fear in a war,» he said.

The competition that was originally planned to be played on July 19 was postponed due to operational challenges in the Kalyani Stadium. However, persistent rainfall has expressed concern about the pitch. The coach recognized the potential impact of the weather on the favorite playing style of his team.

«My playing style is based on passing football, and if the soil is wet, it will be a challenge,» Bino admitted. «But we always have a plan B. Voetbal is a result -oriented sport, and the fans do not accept any apologies. The derby always brings out the best in players, and tomorrow we go for the victory.»
