The combination of me by hitting the wall, the most challenging terrain in New Hampshire/Southern Maine, and my discomfort (including my severe ankle roll that forced me to leave the path for 6 days, almost finishing the trip) they have made it difficult to enjoy the path the last month. But seeing the old friends, making some new ones, experiencing Maine’s beauty and realizing that this is soon coming to an end has really made me enjoy the last week.

Old friends
Unexpectedly, seeing family faces on the road is always a great feeling. So, when I covered a storm of rain at noon for lunch in a Maine shelter and I came across Lord Chuckles and Bugs, I was surprised. I met Kuckles in Franklin, NC. We walked a little through the tighter and in Tennessee, and I saw it for the last time when we expected in the Shenondoah’s, which was more than 1,000 miles ago.

I had not seen insects in more than 1,600 miles, the last time I saw it around Sam’s Gap in TN. The bugs will fall as the hiker who was more miles between seeing. It is fun to think that they have been doing exactly what I have been doing in recent months, following this white fire through the forest, and brought us all here, together, at Katahdin’s door. Although brief, sitting with them was a walk through the memory lane and a great boost for my psyche.

Grafton Notch – (Mark Trails; Gray Jay)
During the last 200 miles, I have been walking/camping with and around Mark Trails, whom I have not really seen from PA, and the chicken legs (recently known) that is making a long walk of the section (the eyelashes) of Harpers Ferry. We have had some of the best days in the city in Monson, Rangelley and Carrabassett Valley. While walking much faster than me, I can definitely defend myself when we drink in the city! Chickn Legs is one of the fastest hikers I have found on the road, including any of the children I met in the south. He is knowledgeable, light, fast and strong, and puts herself on the way in front of me! We have had many laughs, and those are the moments that I will remember.

I can see for miles
August 1 was a great day. Many of my friends planned to accumulate Katahdin, and I was so excited about them that I kept refreshing my Instagram feed to see if they published photos. But for me, it was the last day of southern Maine, my last climb of a 4,000 -foot mountain to Katahdin. When I arrived at the Bigelow West Peak, I could see forever, including Katahdin, 180 miles away. These were the best views I have had throughout the path, including whites. The weather was perfect. I sat there for more than an hour. Then I sat in Avery Peak for 45 minutes and spent another 45 minutes at Little Bigelow Mountain Cening. I knew that all this time would mean arriving at the camp in Dark, but I realized, in several weeks, I would work again and wishing to be here. Rolling to the camp At 8 pmI ran into older friends that I have not seen from Pennsylvania. Chickn Louise, Alpha Gal and Metro. It was very nice to share conversations, including the views of the day.

Lebio
In April 2021, the section walked to the Smokies and gathered and connected with several hikers. When they arrived in the New York area, I picked them up on the road and offered them a reboot and replenishing in my house. When they came, I met Lebowski and we have stayed in touch since then. Lebowski is a Nebo ’21 student, and when he learned my attempt this year, he was very supportive, including offering me Magic De Trail in East Flagstaff Road in Maine. I had bacon, eggs, hamburgers, sweets, fried potatoes, baked products and beer! All desires of hikers. Trail Magic is very special, and I am very grateful every time I receive it. But when someone comes to make magic of paths specifically for you, it is even more special. I am always grateful and I will always remember it.
