Entering the presidential ones – the walk

Day 104-9 miles today from Ethan Pond Shelter to Mizpah Spring Campsite, 3300 feet higher, 2400 feet below, 1859 in Mile Marker

Together again

He had plans to meet Knockerz in Crawford’s notch at 8:00, so I was not in a hurry to start when Righty got up at 4:00 am again. I started at 6:00 am for an easy 3 mile walk to notch.

The delicates appeared and provided me with all kinds of refueling. I could completely undress and change in clean hiking clothes and throw my extra clothes. She brought a lot of food, so she had food to eat, she also had a lot of refueling.

The speakers led to here from the south to support me. She will be with me inside and outside the rest of her trip. This will really help me a lot.

There were other hikers who also knew people in the notch. One of them offered me an IPA beer. Some other local people who were former hikers had established a Magic Trail table and encouraged me to eat some fresh fruit. It was an incredible stop that I have not had so much wonderful magic in weeks if no more.

Attacking presidential

My plan was just two nights in presidential. So I took off with just a couple of days of food. But a good variety of foods that I have not had in my food bag before.

She also brought me my shoes, so I could replace my shoes even though my other shoes were not completely exhausted. My feet have definitely been suffering from whites. So I changed another pair of last year with which I have had so much luck.

It is supposed to assault this afternoon and I had a good climb in the direction of the presidential ones, so I could not stay with Knockerz. Although it is only 5.6 miles to the MizPah Hut camp, it seems a difficult escalation.

From Crawfords Notch, you can look up and see the upper part of Mount Webster. It looked quite formidable with 2,600 feet of climbing to reach the top in approximately 3 miles.

Webster Mountain

I finally got to the top of Mount Webster. There were some technical points, but at the top there was a spectacular view in the Valley gorge then when the clouds separated enough to have a view.

After that it began to rain and the rocks became slippery. This was a bit worrying because there were some rock technical increases.

Entering the presidential ones – the walk

The trail brands were horrible. One would think that they could get some white paint from time to time for any reason that there were very few fires that I lost several times. I don’t think they really love us here.

He continued raining as he went up and descended along the cliff. It was a very difficult walk and sometimes terrifying.

Finally, I went to the area of the camp adjacent to the cabin and installed my store on a platform. It was cold, but fortunately I had my bag below that I have taken from day one. I asked him about the work for the stay and they told me that they could not give me an answer for about an hour at 4:00. So I went back to the forest and jumped to my tent while the cold rain spurs outside fell asleep.
