Europa League 2025-26: Aston Villa earns 2-0 win against Feyenoord; Nottingham Forest loses to Midtjylland

Aston Villa gained two wins from two in the Europa League with a 2-0 win to Feyenoord on Thursday, where the second half of Emiliano Buendia and John McGinn deserved three hard points in Rotterdam.

The side of Unai Emery followed his 1-0 success on Bologna with a different victory, but Villa had to endure a storm of the hosts by the hosts before he came at the top.

Villa was forced into a change before the kick-off, where Marco Bizot replaced keeper Emi Martinez, and the late call-up was a busy man in the first half.

Bizot twice denied Anis Hadj Moussa and pulled an impressive rescue from Luciano Valente, with villas Ian Maatsen who made a goal line.

Villa came close early in the second half, with the strike by Evann Guessand from the post, and it took the lead in the 61st minute.

Boubacar Kamara laid the ball to Buendia on the edge of the area, which took one touch to check and made no mistake when his shot flew into the bottom corner and 11 minutes of time, Villa closed the victory.

Nottingham Forest loses

Nottingham Forest lost 3-2 to the Danish club Midtjylland in his first home game in a European competition in almost 30 years, so that recently hired manager Ange Postecoglou was without a victory after six games.

Some forest fans did not seem to be patient with the Australian and sing that he was fired during the last minutes of the game.

Midtjylland led 3-1 after replacement Valdemar Andreasen scored in the 88th minute before Chris Wood lowered the shortage in the stopping time in time.
