Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola revealed that his party suffered a major injury short in Claudio Echeverri before their last group phase match against Juventus on Thursday.
Echeverri, who scored from a stunning free kick during his first start for City, was only running during the previous match of the city, a 6-0 win over Al Ain who insured his qualification in the last 16.
The attacking midfielder had to leave the field after the break due to injury.
«He has some problems with his ankle. Unfortunately it will take two or three weeks. I feel sorry for all of us,» Guardiola told reporters.
The update of Guardiola means that the Argentinian will probably miss the rest of the tournament.
City is bound with Juventus on six points, but is second in the group. The second place plays the winner of Groep H in the round of 16, which is currently Real Madrid.
