FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2025 Final: Indians among leading ticket buyers for PSG vs. Flamengo

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the winners of the UEFA Champions League, will take on Brazilian champions Flamengo in the final of the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in Al-Rayyan, Qatar, on Wednesday.

Expect the stadium to be packed to the rafters, with Indians said to be one of the most eager groups to catch a glimpse of continental champions. Sports stars understands that Indian nationals are among the top three FIFA Intercontinental Cup ticket buyers this edition.

They were also the largest non-Arab group to purchase tickets for the recently concluded FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Qatar, where Portugal defeated Austria 1-0 in the final to win its first world title.

«If you look at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, India was in the top seven in terms of ticket purchases and top eight in terms of hospitality (package) purchases. It was one of the highest ranked in terms of digital viewership,» Nick Brown, senior vice president, Commercial, FIFA, had said earlier this year.

«India hosted the 2017 U-17 Men’s World Cup in six cities, breaking China’s attendance records. All these achievements make India super important as a market to invest in.»

Even in the run-up to the 2023 AFC Asian Cup in Qatar – where the Indian team participated – supporters from the country bought a significant portion of the additional 90,000 tickets, which were sold within the first 24 hours of the release of the second batch of tickets, about two months before the opening of the tournament.

Qatar will make history by becoming the first country to host two major FIFA finals in two consecutive days, with the Arab Cup final between Morocco and Jordan taking place on Thursday at the memorable Lusail Stadium – where Lionel Messi’s Argentina won the World Cup by beating France.
