FIFA reveals Trionda, the official ball of the World Cup 2026


FIFA has unveiled the official competition ball for the World Cup 2026, in which high-tech paintings and design details are combined in honor of the three fellow Gastheerlanden-de United States, Mexico and Canada.

The ball, called Trionda, was redesigned by the German manufacturer Adidas, provider of the official world cup balls since the 1970 tournament.

«I am very happy and proud to present the Trionda,» said FIFA president Gianni Infantino while the ball was unveiled on Thursday during an event in New York.

The first world cup organized by three countries, with 48 teams that compete, inspired both the name and the design of the ball with red, blue and green colors.

Iconography of every host country – Chamber sheets from Canada, the eagle from Mexico and stars from the United States also contain, with a triangle that refers to the unity of the three countries.

Less visible are technological progress that include deep seams that are designed to produce «optimum stability during flight» and relief picons that improve grip in wet or moist conditions.

A Motion Sensor chip will pass on information about the movement of the ball and send data to the video assistant referee (VAR) system.

The unveiling marks another step in counting to the North American world cup, which will be held next year on 11 June.

FIFA has launched its online phased ticket sales procedures, with more than 4.5 million fans from 216 countries and areas that withdraw the presale.

The tournament lot will be held in Washington on December 5.
