FIFA confirmed on Friday the schedule for March’s inter-confederation World Cup play-off, with Iraq, Bolivia and Suriname playing in Monterrey, while the Democratic Republic of Congo, New Caledonia and Jamaica will play in Guadalajara.
With two spots for the final in North America up for grabs, Guadalajara Stadium will host the match that will see New Caledonia take on Jamaica in the semi-finals, with the winner advancing to DR Congo.
The BBVA Stadium in Monterrey will host the Bolivia-Suriname semi-final, with Iraq awaiting the winner. Both semi-finals will be played on March 26, while the two finals will take place on March 31.

The one-match knockout format will see high-stakes draws as teams chase the final spots in the first-ever 48-team FIFA World Cup, to be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada next year.
Local organizers said the playoffs would also serve as important operational tests, helping test logistics, security and fan movement plans with state and municipal authorities.
Monterrey and Guadalajara will each host four matches at the World Cup from June 11 to July 19.
Pedro Esquivel, head of the Monterrey organizing committee, said on Thursday that the BBVA Stadium was ready to host the matches ahead of schedule after renovation work including a new pitch and improved VIP boxes.
“If there was a competition in January, we could organize it without any problem,” he said.
“We are working with state and local authorities to view these matches as a trial for protocols and mobility, and we are coordinating closely with FIFA, which is eager for the event to be a success in Mexico.”
