Kevin De Bruyne underlined his talismanic role for Belgium with a stunning goal of breaking the impasse and on his way to a comfortable 6-0 win over Kazakhstan in a world cup qualification on Sunday.
It threatened to be a frustrating night in the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium for the Belgians before the 42nd minute strike, but then they were able to continue and register a comfortable victory with both De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku who scored twice.
Belgium has 10 points of four games in Group J, for Wales on target difference, but behind leader North Macedonia, who previously beat 5-0 with 5-0 earlier on Sunday. North Macedonia and Wales have each played five games.
The group winner automatically qualifies for next year’s World Cup, while second place goes in a play-off.
Kazakhstan, which has now lost four of his five group matches, Stout initially defended and goalkeeper Mukhamedjan Seysen made several stops before a series of smart details set up De Bruyne’s Bonschot in the upper corner.

Leandro Trossard played an overhead film to keep Belgium in possession and then Charles de Ketelaere back the ball on the path of De Bruyne, followed by a typically powerful and accurate effort for his 33rd international goal.
Immediately Belgium doubled the lead with Doku a shot from left home to send them to the break 2-0.
Belgium went further in the 51st minute when the cross of the captain Youri Tielemans to the back post was played over the face of Goal by Doku for Nicolas Raskin to touch the house for his first international goal.
Doku took his second in the hourly mark with an eruption of acceleration that brought him past the defense before he found it with a left -wing strike from an acute angle.
The 34-year-old De Bruyne added the fifth in the 84th minute after he was set up by Alexis Saelemaekers.
The strike of fullback Thomas Meunier three minutes later completed a second consecutive 6-0 win for the Belgians who eliminated the same against Liechtenstein on Thursday.
