Finally it’s time. – The walk

Introduction

I would like to introduce myself. I am Yardsale. It is not the «Yardsale» that I could expect … In 2019, my name came from packing so much food (read «Fear») that I gave the complete replenishments to hikers, along the way! In essence, I had yards for days.

Who am I?

So, a little background. I am husband, father, dad, friend, driver of UPS retired, occasional piper and azilla (long a .. Excursionist section). I made walking as a retirement gift for me. Since 2019, I have tried to complete the PCT not less than 6 times. They have closed to me due to injuries, covid, fire, time limitations and continued appearing. This year is different. I have decided to walk on a different path.

The great division path

This year, I, together with Slinky and Map, I will assume the great path divides of Canada. A path of approximately 730 miles through the heart of the Canadian rock mountains. It is considered one of the most difficult paths in North America. There are many river crossings with some route findings and bushwacks. It will be a challenge to be sure!

Making a difference.

This walk is a bit different from the others. We are walking to support Ethanmurrayfund.org, a 501C3 organization that helps provide resources for those looking for help with mental health problems. The organization helps to match candidates with directors and therapists in our community. The «EMF» also offers scholarships to students seeking to follow education in the field of mental health. Driving

This path has consumed much of my time during the last nine months. Among telephone calls, planning, planning and selection sessions, food planning and preparation, not to mention hundreds of miles in training walks, I am ready to follow the way.

The time has come

After nine months of planning, the day has come. Tomorrow, we will walk to the south of the terminal and turn north during the next 730 miles.
