10 Mile Camp – Pine Island
The day started with a short walk to filter water from some buggy tracks. Big Cypress water is delicious. I’m not lying. It starts out a little brown, but seeps into a nice crystal clear liquid.
I met another hiker. He passed by me. You must have quite a bit of experience. We exchanged words for a moment and then he left.
6 MILES IN 6 HOURS!!! WHAT THE HELL!
He took a lunch break at Penny Royal’s camp and was gassed. I loaded up on IV fluid and as much protein and carbs as I could.
It was getting late so I had to push on so I could set up camp by nightfall.
I saw some snakes, many birds, and many signs of other animals.
I’m definitely looking forward to getting out of the swamp tomorrow! My GoPro tripod broke. HA HA HA
What have I gotten myself into now?
