Footballer Nuin from Argentina dies during the knee operation


Camilo Nuin, an 18-year-old player for San Telmo in Argentina, died on Wednesday during the knee operation, confirmed the second division club.

The procedure – usually performed on athletes – was intended to treat meniscal and cruciate ligament injuries to restore the stability of the joint.

«It is with deep sadness that we have the death of Camilo Ernesto Nuin, a player in our youth and reserve divisions, who undergone today,» said San Telmo, «said San Telmo on his official X account.

«The club will remain closed today as a sign of mourning. We join his family, friends and teammates in this difficult time and remain at their disposal for everything they need.»

Neither the club nor the local authorities have announced the specific cause of Nuin’s death. Argentinian media reported that further details are expected as soon as investigations continue into the circumstances concerning his death.

Nuin, a left -wing midfielder, joined San Telmo in 2022 after he has implemented Boca Juniors and Independente through the youth academies of Argentinian powerhouses.

Various Argentinian football organizations, including the Argentine Football Association (AFA), have expressed their condolences.

«The Argentinian football club, through her President Claudio Tapia and the Executive Committee, expressed his grief at the death of Camilo Nuin and expands his participation to the player’s family,» said the AFA.
