Former MacArthur Bulls players Clayton Lewis and Kearyn Baccus have been instructed to pay fines of a $ 10,000 ($ 6,600), but avoided convictions for their share in a gambling scandal with manipulation of yellow cards in A-League matches.
Former new -Zeeland midfielder Lewis and Baccus were confronted on Wednesday with a Sydney court for conviction after he has guilty of behavior that corrupts the gambling outcome of an event.
Both players admitted that they received payments of a $ 10,000 each from club captain Ulises Davila to ensure that yellow cards were published in several A-League matches at the end of 2013.

Davila, a national of Mexico, should not enter any charges against him yet. He will be confronted with the court on Thursday.
Lewis and Baccus will serve a two-year conditional release order, a non-guardianship in Australia with which offenders can remain in the community under certain conditions.
The couple’s conviction comes a month after former Western United midfielder Riku Danzaki received a fine of $ 5,000 and convicted for fraud for deliberately earning yellow cards in A-League matches so that he and a friend could cash in with bookmakers.
