Manchester United -attacker Alejandro Garnacho has completed a permanent move to Chelsea, the Premier League clubs have announced on their respective social media handles.
The 21-year-old had been to the Youth System of the United in 2020 and has 26 goals in 144 performances for the Senior Team.
The Argentinian won the Carabao Cup – also known as the League Cup – in 2023 and the FA Cup a year later under manager Erik ten Hag. His last performance for the Red Devils was in the Europa League final, where United lost to Tottenham Hotspur.
‘It is an incredible moment for my family and I to become a member of this great club. I can’t wait to get started. I have viewed the Club World Cup and to become a member of the World Champions is special – we are the best team in the world! It’s great to be here and I’m very happy, «said Garnacho, after he signed up for the London -based club.
Although the exact transfer costs were not officially available, the British media suggested that the amount was around 40 million pounds (USD 54 million).
Garnacho was one of the players who were looking for an exit from United this summer, alongside Marcus Rashford, Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho and Antony. Rashford has already left for a seasonal loan to Barcelona.
