Grace’s double lead guides India to a 7-2 win in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup build-up


The India women’s national football team defeated Perth Azzurri 7-2 in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Macedonia Park on Monday.

The Australian club took an early lead through a penalty, but Dangmei Grace equalized shortly afterwards as the teams entered the break at 1-1. The Blue Tigresses took the lead in the second half and Grace scored again minutes after the restart before Rimpa Haldar and Babina Devi Lisham extended the lead to make it 4-1.

Perth Azzurri pulled one back but India added three more towards the end. Lihat juga cxv4. Kaviya Pakkirisamy scored once while Sangita Basfore struck twice to complete the win.

India are preparing for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia where they will be placed in Group C. The country will start their campaign against Vietnam on March 4 at Perth Rectangular Stadium before facing Japan at the same venue on March 7.

The final group match is against Chinese Taipei on March 10 at the Western Sydney Stadium in Sydney.
