Haaland misses a penalty twice in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Norway and Israel

Manchester City star Erling Haaland missed twice a penalty for Norway against Israel in World Cup qualifying on Saturday.

Haaland’s first penalty was hit low and saved by Daniel Peretz. But Polish referee Szymon Marciniak ordered the kick to be restarted because the goalkeeper had left his line too early.

He tried the other way a second time, aiming for the corner, but Peretz guessed correctly again and waved his effort away as Haaland looked on in disbelief.

Haaland made amends later in the first half when he scored with a low strike after holding on to Alexander Sorloth’s pass, his tenth goal of the qualifying campaign.

He has also scored 12 goals in nine appearances for City this season, taking his club total to 136 in 155 appearances for the club.

There were peaceful pro-Palestinian protests before the match in Oslo.
