A Nero, an Alce and the dreaded weekend warriors
I had breakfast at the Kracker barrel and grabbed a couple of convenient stores for dinner before leaving the city. He was not the best Nero, but I was lucky when a fellow hiker got a room in the shelter and let me make a surf sofa in his room for $ 50. It was better than the tent sleeping in a wooden chip bed, which was the other option. I planned alone going approximately 7 miles the next day, so I was not in a hurry to leave. Shortly after leaving Kracker’s barrel, I threw a female alce on the path, which was great. The highlight was that I passed the 2300 mile brand. Only 350 to go! I camped for a lake and there were a lot of weekend warriors camping and fishing. It must have been about 15 of them. When I walked through his camp, I noticed that there was garbage everywhere. What happens to people? I hope you have collected everything, this type of activity brings bears, mice and other airplanes to the camps so that hikers have to deal with later.

Rainier closely
The next day I had a beautiful walk around Mount Rainier. Closely and personal. There were many of the dreaded one -day hikers obstructing the path and slowing down my roll. It was the weekend of Labor Day, so it was expected, I suppose. Everyone smells so well. It is surprising when you become wild how well your smell becomes, I’m not sure why. It probably has something to do with not being close to a lot of lotions and detergent smells and you only notice it. A couple next to a path asked how far the path came because they were thinking about walking through him. We were on the PCT, so I laughed and said it goes to Canada. It seemed a bit confused. He camped in another lake that also had a lot of weekend campers. Gathered with Las Vegas and the crew again.

Labor Day Path Magic
The weekend of Labor Day is usually a great weekend by Magic Trail. There was a planned couple that we planned to hit. He walked a short day, only 21 miles. 15 of the miles were through the burned forest that simply stamped. I was smoked by a nearby by fire and Ash was falling from the sky. The plan was to camp in a snow cabin called Mike Urich Cabin. It is a great cabin with a fireplace in which hikers can sleep. When we arrived at a girl named Red Stripe, we met in Crater Lake and who had just finished her triple crown, she was there with a lot of magic of trails. He had walked in pizza, beer, soft drinks, cinnamon rolls and a variety of other things. We had a great gar de trash food favorite party. We were supposed to walk another 2 miles to another magic food, but we had such well hanging it with a red strip that we stayed. After a while, hikers began to stack the forest, they must have been about 15 hikers. We had a great night hanging out and speaking.
I didn’t sleep very well in the shelter. To make things worse, I left my camp shoes in the cabin that really stuck. The walk of the day was a hard walk, 6K elevation of more than 30 miles. There is not much to do, the near fire made everything quite smoked, so he did not get many views. He camp with Vegas and company and had a good night next to a lake. The next morning, my ankles and feet of the big miles the day before were killing me. He took a couple of miles to solve it. He had about 16 miles in the small city of Snowqaulmie. Pretty walk without incident apart from that it was very rocky and had many sharp. He took a Nero to resunge himself, then he will be in Steven’s pass.

Some hard miles through Washington
Not much in Snowqaulmie, but stayed in a really great shelter called Washington Alpine Club. It is a small ski shelter that houses PCT hikers during the summer. It has a lot of history and character. For some reason, many of the hikers stayed at the local hotel, but were lost. The hosts of the place made us dine that night and a great breakfast the next morning.
The next three days on the road were marked for some really difficult days. This section is supposedly the most difficult section of Washington. It was a lot of climbing. To make things worse, the smoke was really bad, which made some views not so great. Until now, the smoke has not affected my breathing that I have noticed. Camping in the lakes every night with Vegas and the crew, he swam well in one of the lakes. After a few exhausting days, he arrived in the small city of Leavenworth Wa. We have a trip with an Uber driver who had a tesla that was driving. It made me a little nervous to see the car turn through the mountain without the drivers with my hands on the steering wheel! Leavenworth is a modeled city after a Bavarian city. Remember me something you would see in Disney. Fortunately, I asked for some new shoes and picked them up in Der Sportsman to replace my current shoes that had more than 700 miles in them. The rocks in this last section started holes in mine and Vegas shoes. Quite brutal section. I will take a zero tomorrow and obtain a refueling for the next section, which is a 5 -day walk before the replenishment. There is some concern for the fires between here and the terminal, many people are jumping. I hope to complete without interruption. This will probably be the last blog before the end of my walk, be attentive to the exciting conclusion!

Say goodbye to my mother -in -law
In a sad note, my mother -in -law died last week. He had been decreasing during the last month and was in Hospice for a short time. My wife has been dealing with the situation and I feel bad that I have not been there for her. I was trying to decide whether I had to leave the path for the funeral or not, but my wife and his brothers said he needed to finish. I think if I got off, I wouldn’t have time to finish. One of the things in which my mother -in -law connected was that we both liked our very hot coffee and we liked something sweet. So I will have a cup of hot coffee and a sweet and think of Barb.
