Walking at the length of my origin has given me a lot of pride for all the diverse and beautiful places we have. But nothing surpasses walking from my home. This is the best part of California and obtains the seal of approval of a Californian.
Day 83
Back along the way after a great 10 -day break (mostly in Hawaii) and a newly shaved face (farewell farewell beard)! I arrived on the road around noon on highway 80 / Donner Pass. Hiking was soft, mostly snow -free and full of wild flowers. I forgot how much land you can cover when you can see the ground. I walked at a comfortable pace and still achieved a day of 22 miles despite the late beginning. I love these snow -free things. My body feels able to return to the full days of walking, but my hips hurt strangely towards the end of the day. Otherwise, I am raising to return to the rhythm of things and see Norcal! Goodbye Sierra’s, it has been an adventure.
This path of path is as close to home as it seems to me. Being in a section with which I am familiar is a special experience. I have walked day some of these areas in the past, they often dreamed of walking them through a walk. Making that dream come true is quite great!
Day 84
In the early morning they offered me real (non -instantaneous) hot (not cold soaked) of Speed Queen, whom I had camped nearby. How could I say no? We sat down and talked for a time for a coffee before I left and I realized how long it has spent since I could take my time in the morning. The Sierras (particularly with snow) force you to be at a tight schedule all the time, but not even more indulgent and I intend to take advantage of that. I crossed in the city of Sierra around noon after 16 miles on a completely snow -free path. I took my time in the city to start the stinky shoes, charge electronics, eat a hamburger and get my refueling. The sled dog rolled in an hour after me and we met for the first time from Tuolumne Meadows. After much sitting and chilling, we return to the path and climb 3.5 miles more to one of the most impressive camp places in which I have housed. We were right next to the Sierra Buttes with views of the mountains around us and precisely on the 1200 mile score.

Day 85
Sled Dog and I started the day with Speed Queen coffee and we put on the way, walking through the Sierra Buttes and in the National Forest of Feathers. We meet Roadrunner and spend the rest of the day walking with her. The path had some snowy points, but nothing we could not drive and that was lovely. We finished after 29 miles and drew with a friendly deer.

Day 86
It was a classic hiking day of Norcal. We go through our first proper burn scar, shrubs through shrubs covered with vegetation and experience a true summer sun in California. Not a single snowman. There was a significant detour around a severely covered section of land along the land and gravel roads that probably added a few miles to our total mileage. But as for the real PCT miles that we cover: 26.

Day 87
Another classic Nortal day. Without snow, roasted sun, burning, burned trees, etc. I entered the buck lake for a fast meal because I barely had enough to get to Belden to replenish. It was an easy way to the city and I could take a walk with a couple of other hikers most of the way back to the path. The sled dog and I covered another 26 miles and camped in a lake called Three Lakes (it was a lake). He had the luxury of swimming and rinse the dirt before bedtime.
Day 88
Sled Dog and I slept to almost 7 because we were in a mission to have a cold day. We had 8 miles of descent in Bethden a few thousand feet. They let me carry and trot a lot. Once in Belden, we publish at the Resort restaurant to load electronics, eat real foods and summarize. I opted only to get enough to reach Chester (2 days away) because the replenishment options were quite scarce. I returned to the path only around 1. The Sun was directly on top and I had a massive and exposed climb in front of me. It was a very hot and sweaty effort. I camped next to Creek Chips, rinsed her on the stream and had a soft afternoon resting around the camp and eating.

Day 89
My goal for this day was to get to Chester (35.5 miles away) or near Chester so that I could roll early in the morning. Hiking was soft and even the rating for larger climbs felt super reasonable and crossed. Northcal heat is officially beginning to arrive, particularly in the burned areas where there is no shadow. But I will take the heat any day on the snowfields. I crossed half an official road (1325 miles) in the afternoon! In total, we cover 32 miles and rinse in Soldier Creek, where I decided to stay. Although my sleeping pad is deflated faster and faster every night, this was my best sleep night since I returned to the path a week ago.

Day 90
I started the day with a fast 3 miles to highway 36, where I and a couple of other hikers got a hitch in Chester. They spent a couple of hours in a restaurant for food, cargo and chilling. There was a true grocery store with real groceries, so the replenishment was easy. The guy behind me in the row in the box offered me a return trip to the beginning of the path so that this problem was solved. In general, it was a very soft city stop. I was back on the road around noon and I got another 18 miles down to update with the sled in the camp established in the Lassen Volcanic National Park.
