The UAE and Qatar will meet in the fourth qualifying round for Asian teams ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the Jassim Bin Hammad Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar, on Tuesday, October 14. Both sides will look to secure a place at the tournament to be held in the US, Mexico and Canada in 2026 with a win.
Their qualifying group includes the two sides along with Oman. The UAE currently sit top on three points after beating Oman 2-1 during the meeting between the two on October 11. Qatar occupies second position with one point, after a 0-0 draw with the same team.

Oman are currently bottom of the group, with just one point from both matches.
These results mean the comparison for both teams in Tuesday night’s match is relatively simple. The UAE simply need to avoid defeat, with a win or draw enough to advance to the World Cup, while a win is necessary for Qatar to progress. In the event of a draw, Qatar would enter the fifth qualifying round in second place.
If Qatar loses, they would finish level with Oman, and goal difference would be used to determine which team advances to the fifth round.
