The Ballon d’Or winner for 2025 will be decided on Monday 22 September during a special ceremony in Paris.
The prize is awarded to the best players for male and female and is based on three main criteria: individual versions, team performance and fair play.

Messrs Ballon d’Or is determined by an international jury that exists leading journalists of the Top 100 in the latest FIFA ranking list. The women’s price is decided by a jury from the top 50 countries.
Each representative selects a list of ten players from the 30-member Shortlist, which is made well in advance. The ten selected players receive 15, 12, 10, 8, 8, 5, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point respectively. The balloon d’Or is awarded to the player with the highest number of points.
In the event that two players end with the same number of votes, the first Tie-Breaker is the number of votes in the first place. In the event that the draw continues, second and third place votes are considered and so on.
