Hungus at Katahdin 2007
Hello hikers! I’m excited to be a first-time Trek Blogger in 2026 and share my Arizona Trail adventures. I am an experienced backpacker who has been in love with hiking since I first set foot on the AT in New Jersey in 2003. My good friend Mr. Sweepers “dragged” me to spend the night near High Point and I was instantly hooked. A couple of years later, he started a NOBO AT hike and I was able to update his trail journal at trailjournals.com, submitted via pocket mail and a pay phone (who remembers both?). Their adventure fascinated me and I committed to making it a reality a few years later. In 2007 I hiked the AT and then again in 2012 with my girlfriend. I proposed to Katahdin and we got married a few years later.

Since then I have become more of a LASHer (Long Ass Section Hiker), exploring various trails over the years. My trekking highlights include the Huayhuash Circuit (’08), the Long Path (’16), the Colorado Trail (’17), the New Jersey and New York Highlands Trail (’20), the The long road to New York (’21), the Tahoe Rim Trail (’22), the Finger Lakes Trail (’24), the PA Middle State Trail (’25) and North Country Trail PA/NY/VT.

I currently live in New Jersey, just 35 minutes from the AT. I am SUPER interested in volunteering for the New York, NJ Trail Conference and wear many hats for that organization. I’m an AT Trail Maintainer for the Stairway to Heaven section (the hardest climb in New Jersey), a Level B AT Sawyer (my favorite way to volunteer), and a Volunteer Trail Crew Leader (breaking up rocks and digging in the hillside).

I am currently hiking sections of the Arizona Trail (AZT). In November 2025, I walked from Southern Terminus to Kearny. By 2026, I’m excited to finish the AZT and share the journey as a Trek Blogger. I’ll be back on the track for three weeks at the end of March and back for the final two weeks in October to get to the finish line. Glad to have you along for the ride!

I’m going to retrospectively post my previous two-week AZT adventure so that my entire hike section of this trail is captured on The Trek. I’ve been posting all my hikes as daily videos on my Instagram from the Colorado Trail. All trails before that date were in perforator either Trail Magazines if you want to read about them.
