Brazilian striker Igor Jesus, one of the stars of the current FIFA Club World Cup, signed for Nottingham Forest from Botafogo on Saturday.
The 24-year-old center scored twice in front of Botafogo at the tournament that took place in the United States, including the decision maker against Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain.
In July 2024, Igor Jesus joined Botafogo of the VAE team Shabab Al Ahli and and his impressive domestic form gave him a first call-up of Brazil for world cup qualifications in October and November. He scored on his debut, against Chile.
«I am really happy to be part of this new story, especially in a club like Nottingham Forest,» said Igor Jesus. «I didn’t have to think about the offer twice, I embraced it. I embraced the project that they sent me. I am looking forward to coming here and hope to do great work.»
Forest finished in seventh place in the Premier League last season after he had been a large part of the campaign in the Champions League places.
