The Indian senior women’s team defeated Swiss club FC Schlieren 2-1 in a friendly match behind closed doors at the Emirhan Sports Center in Manavgat, Türkiye on Saturday.
Anju Tamang (19′) and Grace Dangmei (81′) struck in each half for the Blue Tigresses before FC Schlieren reduced the margin with an 85-minute penalty.
This was India’s second friendly match in Türkiye after a 0-2 defeat to Ukrainian side FC Metalist 1925 Kharkiv last Saturday.
The Blue Tigers are preparing for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026, to be held in March. They have been placed in Group C alongside Japan, Chinese Taipei and Vietnam.
India qualified for the continental tournament on merit for the first time in history after an unbeaten qualifying campaign, which included defeating higher-ranked Thailand.
