India started its AFC UNDER-23 Asian Cup qualifications on a winning note with a 2-0 win over Bahrain on Wednesday in the Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.
Muhammed Suhail hit the lonely goal in the 32nd minute of the game with Macarton Nickson who did the assist. Shivaldo Chingangbam yielded an injury time to bring the game to bed in favor of the Blue Colts.
Host Qatar and Brunei Darussalam are the other two teams in Group H. The group winners and the four best second place in all 11 groups will be eligible for the last tournament, which will be held in Saudi Arabia in January 2026.
