India achieved a second consecutive victory over the Saff Under-17 Women’s Championship 2025, so Bangladesh was relaxed 2-0 in the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu on Friday.
Pearl Fernandes and replacement Bonifilia Shullai scored the young tigers. With this victory, India cemented its place at the top of the table, where all possible six points are used.
In the 14th minute, the Center-Back Divyani Linda made an inspired run of Deep, grabbed a loose ball and Bulldoz through the midfield. While defenders gathered on her, she cleverly took it to Pearl, who was left unark on the edge of the box. Given the time and space, Pearl unleashed a powerful attempt from the left foot. Although Bangladesh keeper Yearzan Begum led her gloves, she could not keep it out.
The second half followed a similar rhythm, in which India possessed dictated and Bangladesh deeply defended. Although the chances became rarer, India never looked at danger.
In the 76th minute it hit a set piece. Alisha Lyngdoh curled in a corner from the right and found replacement Bonifilia Shullai unmarked. Shullai positioned herself perfectly and led her header in the net and doubled India’s benefit.
The remaining minutes were managed with maturity. India delayed the game, held shape and denied Bangladesh every late revival to take three points home.
