India loses to Iran while Jamil tastes the first defeat, continues to fight for third place in Cafa Nations Cup


Khalid Jamil suffered his first defeat as an India coach after the Blue Tigers went 0-3 to Asian powerhouse Iran in the Hisor Central Stadium in Tadsjikistan in a group B Cafa Nations Cup on Monday.

India has made two changes to the starting XI of his 2-1 victory over Tadjikistan on Friday with Danish Farooq and Nikhil Prabhu who came in for Lallianzuala Chhange and Jeakson Singh.

The blue tigers were determined in defense against world no. 20 for almost an hour before it gave the opening goal in the 59th minute.

Amirhossen Hosseinzadeh bundled the ball into it just after India had not dealt with a cross in the box. With India who chased the game, Iran added two goals in death with Ali Aliporgara and Mehdi Taremi who think the net.

Iran has qualified for the final of the tournament, while India is contrary to third place. India is in second place on the table with three points, but the target difference is now -2.

The last group match of India is against Afghanistan on Thursday.
