The Indian women’s football team under the age of 20 will be confronted on Monday with Uzbekistan in an international friendship after the fixture, planned a day earlier, was canceled.
«The U20 Women’s International Friendly between India and Uzbekistan, planned for today in Tashkent, has been declared because of operational challenges at the Do’stlik Stadium,» said the All India Football Federation in a statement on Sunday.
However, it was later confirmed that the competition will take place on July 14. Two days later there is a second game between the two parties in the same stadium.
Monday’s match will not be streamed live, where both teams mutually agree to play behind closed doors.
The friendly matches of India in Uzbekistan are part of the preparation for the upcoming U-20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifications, where it is confronted in Yangon (8 August) and Myanmar in Yangon in Indonesia (August 6), Turkmenistan (August 8) and Myanmar.
The group winner and the three best second place in all eight groups will be eligible for the last tournament in Thailand next year.
