India women have Uzbekistan to pull under the 20-friendly game


The Indian ladies team among the 20 ladies held Uzbekistan a 1-1 draw in their international friendly game at the Do’stlik Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Monday.

Uzbekistan took the lead in the 38th minute after Mehribon Egamberdieva found the back of the net. India came back in the 79th minute to the conditions of the level of a goal of Sulanjana Raul.

The competition initially had to take place on Sunday (July 13), but was canceled due to operational challenges in the Do’stlik stage. It was again planned until the next day with both teams that mutually agree to play behind closed doors.

India will be confronted again on Wednesday with Uzbekistan.

The two friendly matches of India in Uzbekistan are part of the preparation for the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifications next month. The side lid by Joakim Alexanderon will be confronted with Indonesia (August 6), Turkmenistan (August 8) and host Myanmar (August 10) in Yangon.

On the other hand, Uzbekistan, led by head coach Vladimir Panov, is also preparing as hosts of group G of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifications, where it will record it on Bahrain, Northern Mariana Islands and Jordan.

The group winner and three best second place in all eight groups will be eligible for the last tournament in Thailand next year.
