India women smother Uzbekistan with 4-1 in under-20 friendly collision


The Indian women’s team under the age of 20 registered a commander 4-1 victory over Uzbekistan in their international friendly competition at the Do’stlik Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Wednesday.

This was the second of two friendly matches against Uzbekistan after the first game on Monday ended in a 1-1 draw.

India took the lead two minutes before the break after Sibani Devi Nongmeikapam found the back of the net. However, the lead lasted only nine minutes when Uzbekistan was equal to Shakhnoza Dekanbaeva.

India started strongly after the restart and recovered his lead in the 65th minute after Sulanjana Raul scored her second goal of the Tour in Uzbekistan, after scoring the equalizer in the first friendly.

Six minutes later, India expanded his lead through the Neha strike.

With five minutes of regulation time left, Sibani took her second goal of the game to end a dominant night for the young Tigresses.

The two friendly matches of India in Uzbekistan were part of the preparation for the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifications next month. The side lid by Joakim Alexanderon will be confronted with Indonesia (August 6), Turkmenistan (August 8) and host Myanmar (August 10) in Yangon.
